INCENTIVE AREAS

Incentive areas are specially-designated zones within the state that provide unique benefits to the businesses operating within them. Because local communities apply to the state competitively to receive zone designations, there is generally a high degree of cooperation among local and state authorities and the business community. This also means that each zone will have a unique offering of local incentives to sweeten the state benefits.

If you are planning to hire a number of employees or make a substantial investment in machinery or equipment, consider Enterprise Zones and Local Agency Military Base Recovery Areas (LAMBRAs).

If you are a manufacturer who makes use of post-consumer products, Recycling Market Development Zones (RMDZs) hold special benefits.

The following incentive areas are described in this section:

– Enterprise Zones

– Local Agency Military Base Recovery Areas (LAMBRA)

– Recycling Market Development Zones (RMDZ)

-Foreign Trade Zones (federal)
