RECYCLING MARKET DEVELOPMENT ZONES

Recycling Market Development Zones (RMDZ) were developed by the California Waste Management Board to make aid available to communities and businesses that use recycled materials such as paper, newsprint, plastic, tires and greenwaste in the manufacture of goods. Businesses locating within these 40 zones can take advantage of low-interest loan packaging, local permit streamlining and reduced permit application fees, elimination of business license fees, other site location incentives (including low-cost land and infrastructure improvements), job training assistance, discounted utility rates, technical assistance and information sharing.
